1. Overview
Kabe is a curated editorial wall that aggregates publicly available news coverage of Northeast Asia. This policy explains what data we collect (or rather, what we don't) and how the site operates.
2. Data We Collect
Kabe has no user accounts, no registration forms, and no analytics tracking. You can browse the wall without providing any information.
Feedback & source suggestions. If you choose to submit feedback or suggest a source, we store the text you provide, your IP address (for rate-limiting only), and — if you choose to share it — your email address. This data is automatically deleted after 3 months. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us via GitHub.
3. Cookies
Kabe uses two cookies:
lang— a preference cookie that remembers your chosen language (French or English). It contains only the value "fr" or "en" and expires after one year.kabe_session— an authentication cookie used only for administrative access. This cookie is not set for public visitors.
No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies, and no advertising cookies are used.
4. Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Vercel and uses a Neon PostgreSQL database to store article metadata from public RSS feeds. No personal visitor data is stored in the database. Standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) may be retained by the hosting provider per their own privacy policies.
5. External Links
Article cards on Kabe link to external news sources. Clicking a card opens the original article on the publisher's website in a new tab. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect personal data, there is no mechanism to notify users of changes — please check this page periodically.
7. Contact
For questions about this privacy policy or the site in general, you can reach us via the project's GitHub repository.
